The Introduction would be approx 4 hours ,run by Ian and will include ...
- An introduction to Ian’s approach to fire by friction ;the ancestry of fire ; language of fire ; story and ritual
- Demonstration of techniques
- A step by step walkthrough of the bow drill technique - we will use natural (ready made) cordage
- Ian will guide you to make a bow drill set (if a couple or small group Ian will encourage you to do it together.) You will take the set home with you.
- Ian will guide you to use the set solo and together (couple / small group) to coax the ember out of the wood – and Ian is fairly confident (fire gods allowing!) that we will be successful! each person will hopefully have the opportunity to blow an ember to flame
- Looking at alternative ways of using the bow drill and different woods/materials and looking at tinder bundles
- and we’ll see what other fiery magic may unfold too….
