An introduction to friction fire for use in ritual practice
This will be aimed specifically at those who participate in ritual/sacred practice and wish to adopt a more traditional/sacred way of welcoming fire . I will not teach about ritual but exploring the use of friction fire in ritual and will cover:
-The ancestry of fire
-The language of fire
-Exploring Friction fire practices used in ritual and how friction fire is a ritual in itself (and differences between friction fire as a utility e.g in bushcraft)
-importance of communal welcoming of fire
-Demo of general friction methods
-using and practicing bow drill and how it can be adapted for use in ritual practice
-introduction to the Neid fire practice once used throughout Europe
This would be a one day event. If you or a group is interested please contact me to discuss further and pricing. For an individual or small group this could be held at SHFF or hosted by a larger group within Bristol area.
