Welcoming Fire in ritual practice
This will be aimed specifically at those who participate in ritual/sacred practice and/or wish to adopt a more traditional/sacred way of welcoming fire .
I don’t mandate any particular way of ritually welcoming fire or conducting fire rituals. I do not follow any particular doctrine/belief but my own path.
My practice has evolved from 9 years of rubbing sticks and being involved in various sacred practice over the last 20 years. I guide people in how to welcome fire by rubbing sticks and pass on the knowledge and skills I have gained so they can use in thier own practice and pass on to others.
Ritual can be influenced by time of year / beliefs / spiritual path / the land/ nature/ local customs/folklore / a theme / a crisis etc etc that can all be weaved in . Traditionally Neid Fire was for use in time of need and auspicious events.
This would be similar to the Introduction day but delving a bit deeper in the ritual/sacred side ......
-My approach to welcoming fire - the ancestry of fire
-The language of fire
-Folklore and story of fire
-Exploring Friction fire practices used in ritual and how friction fire is a ritual in itself (and differences between friction fire as a utility e.g in bushcraft)
-Importance of communal welcoming of fire
-Demo of different friction methods and how they could be used in ritual - bow drill, hand drill, fire plough
-Guiding people to make and use bow drill for use in ritual practice to coax the embryonic fire (you will take a set home)
