Journey with Fire -  Introduction to Friction Fire

The 4-Hour "Journey with Fire Introduction" will be run by Ian and will include ... 

• An introduction to Ian’s approach to fire by friction and the ancestry of fire and demonstration of techniques
• A step by step walkthrough of the bow drill technique - we will use natural (ready made) cordage 
• Ian will guide you to make a bow drill set (if a couple or small group Ian will encourage you to do it together.) You will take the set home with you. 
• Ian will guide you to use the set solo and together (couple / small group) to coax the ember out of the wood – and  Ian is fairly confident (fire gods allowing!) that we will be successful!  each person will hopefully have the opportunity to blow an ember to flame
• Looking at alternative ways of using the bow drill and different woods/materials and looking at tinder bundles
• and we’ll see what other fiery magic may unfold too….
