Forged From Fire

My connection with Fire

Over the last few years my connection with fire has deepened, and from that has evolved Sacred Hearth Friction fire. Here I will share a bit of that connection which will underlay the work of Sacred Hearth.  We are created from fire, or as I like to say Forged from fire. The universe was created from the big bang.

Life on earth depends on the sun, a ball of fire. Without fire, we homosapiens would not have evolved into how we are today. Without fire there would be no Bronze Age, Iron Age, Industrial Revolution, the Digital Age etc. We are forged from fire. Fire creates life, but just as easily Fire taketh Life, and can destroy.

This may give some explanation into my connection with fie, and why I think it is important to respect and honour fire and not take it for granted.  Which for me is why it is important to kindle or welcome fire in a sacred way. For many traditions  friction fire is seen as a sacred way to welcome fire. There are many fire origin stories from different traditions where friction fire was the first method, and in most stories fire is hidden in trees and the hero uses friction fire to tempt the fire from the trees. In the Vedic tradition Lord Agni is thought to have been born from fire though the friction of Arani or the churning of Arani  (fire sticks) and this ritual is still performed today where they invoke Lord Agni through the churning of Arani. And of course there was the Celtic\Slavic Neid fire sing the Fire Churn, which was seen to be a magical way to create a pure fire

So Sacred Hearth will be based on these​ connections and beliefs, which will form foundation for my workshops, demonstrations and practice.
